According to The Telegraph, Watford are monitoring Aston Villa workhorse Marvelous Nakamba, who is also wanted by Crystal Palace and Everton.
What’s the story?
Well, within an article detailing Tottenham and Aston Villa’s interest in James Ward-Prowse, The Telegraph revealed the nugget of information.
Mike McGrath claims that both Watford and Everton are monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation, after he made just nine Premier League starts last term.
If they were to sell, The Telegraph believe Aston Villa would want profit on the £11m they spent when signing Nakamba from Club Brugge in 2019.
Ward-Prowse is said to be Dean Smith’s No.1 target to bolster his midfield, a department in which Morgan Sanson, Douglas Luiz, John McGinn and Emiliano Buendia currently occupy.
Clearly, the future looks bleak for Nakamba at Villa Park.
Smith didn’t use him much last season, and is actively seeking a player in Ward-Prowse who would push the Zimbabwean further down the pecking order.
Patrick Vieira also considering a swoop

According to the Daily Mail, Patrick Vieira is also thinking about bringing Nakamba to Crystal Palace.
It was said that the Frenchman is considering a move, and is also prepared to test Aston Villa’s resolve.
Elsewhere, Everton were said to be planning a bid.

In our view, the £32,500-a-week midfielder should push to leave Villa Park.
Nakamba clearly isn’t seen as a vital player by Smith given his nine Premier League starts last season.
At 27, Aston Villa’s No.19 is right in the midst of his prime, so it would be a shame for him to waste that period of his career warming the bench.
