Everton and Crystal Palace are interested in signing Marvelous Nakamba from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

What’s the story?

It is being reported by The Daily Mail this evening that both Everton and Palace want to sign Villa midfielder Nakamba.

The Zimbabwe international midfielder features heavily on the transfer wishlist of Everton manager Rafael Benitez and Palace boss Patrick Vieira.

Both the Toffees and the Eagles are ready to make bids for the 27-year-old before the end of the summer transfer window.

The report has added that Villa manager Dean Smith would be reluctant to lose the midfielder.

Should Aston Villa cash in on Nakamba?

Nakamba joined Villa from Club Brugge in the summer of 2019.

As reported by Sky Sports at the time, the midfielder cost the Villans £11 million in transfer fees.

Nakamba has made a total of 42 appearances in the Premier League for the Villans.

Smith’s side have won 16 and lost 19 of those games.

Smith has a strong and competitive midfield department, although there is always room for improvement.

If Villa are to sell Nakamba this summer, then they have to make sure that they have adequate cover, and that they get a good transfer fee.
