Aston Villa manager Unai Emery wants to bring Gerard Deulofeu to Villa Park from Udinese in the January transfer window, according to FootMercato.
Unai Emery wants Gerard Deulofeu at Aston Villa
The report has claimed that Villa boss Emery is considering making a bid for former Everton and Barcelona forward Deulofeu, described as “unplayable” by former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks on BBC Sport in November 2019.
The former Arsenal manager worked with the 28-year-old Spaniard at La Liga club Sevilla in 2014-15.
90min have also claimed that Villa want to sign Deulofeu, adding that AC Milan and Napoli were keen on securing his services in the summer of 2022.
Good signing for the Villans?
We do not think that Gerard Deulofeu would be a particularly great signing for Aston Villa.
Yes, the Spaniard has done well for Udinese and is playing as a centre-forward for the Italian club, but he was not very consistent in English football.

Deulofeu scored 20 goals and created 25 big chances in 127 appearances in the Premier League.
The Spaniard has scored two goals and given six assists in 15 Serie A matches for Udinese so far this season.
The 28-year-old former Everton and Watford attacker scored 13 goals and provided five assists in the league last season.
