Tottenham Hotspur will consider a move for Schalke defender Ozan Kabak despite his underwhelming loan spell at Premier League rivals Liverpool, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
So far, most of the players who have been linked with a move to North London since Fabio Paratici’s arrival simply scream of ambition.
But while the potential arrivals of Manuel Locatelli, Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan de Vrij and Fiorentina phenomenon Dusan Vlahovic have caused quite a stir, reports suggesting Kabak could be on his way might not elicit quite so much excitement.
After all, the Turkey international didn’t exactly set the world alight during his five-month spell at Anfield.
Kabak endured a nightmare start to life on Merseyside, clattering into Alisson Becker as Jamie Vardy gobbled up a gift in February’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester City, although it has to be said that the 21-year-old did improve as time went on.

There will be plenty of doubts, however, about whether Kabak is capable of solidifying a backline beset by individual errors.
After Liverpool opted against triggering the £18 million option-to-buy clause in his contract, TMW believe that, in addition to Lazio, Napoli and Jose Mourinho’s Roma, Paratici’s Tottenham could soon come calling.
A Schalke side who finished rock bottom of the Bundesliga in May are under pressure to raise funds via player sales, and nobody at the Veltins Arena will stand in Kabak’s way if Spurs knock on the door.
It remains to be seen whether a club who don’t tend to hand out big contracts are willing to meet the defender’s £80,000-a-week wage demands, however.
“(Kabak) played an incredible game,” Klopp said in February after a 2-0 Champions League triumph over RB Leipzig, arguably his finest performance for the club.
