According to Sky Sports, Lazio are ready to sell Tottenham target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for a sum of €80m (£67m).
What’s the story?
Well, it seems Spurs will have to smash their club-record transfer fee if they want to bring the Serbia international to the Premier League.
As things stand, the £53.8m purchase of Tanguy Ndombele is Tottenham’s club-record signing, but now, Milinkovic-Savic could take that title.
The update from Sky Sports (via Sempre Milan) comes after La Lazio Siamo Noi revealed that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici – Director of Football at Tottenham – are crazy about the 27-year-old, and want him in north London.
Interestingly, Spurs face competition from a familiar face in Mauricio Pochettino, who is keen to bring Milinkovic-Savic to Paris Saint-Germain.

So far this season, the Lazio No.21 has scored ten goals in 34 Serie A appearances, while also providing 11 assists.
That is a fantastic return for a central midfielder, to say the least.
It comes after Milinkovic-Savic recorded 19 goal involvements from midfield last season, so he’s clearly a consistent player you can rely on.
Tottenham need Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
In our view, Milinkovic-Savic – who has been described as being better than Paul Pogba – would be worth the club-record fee.
Conte doesn’t have anybody like the Serbian at Tottenham, and there is a worrying lack of goals coming from midfield.
There is a clear over-reliance on Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, and when those two fail to find the net, Spurs usually don’t get on the scoresheet.

Therefore, someone like Milinkovic-Savic, who can make late runs and arrive in the box to finish off moves, is badly needed in N17.
Spurs may also be in a good position to complete this deal, as Conte and Paratici have strong connections in Italy.
Paratici has already made good use of these, as the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristian Romero all came from Serie A.
Keep an eye on this situation, as we wouldn’t be surprised to see Tottenham submit a bid for Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
