Tottenham target Jesse Lingard’s Manchester United future may be up in the air as ESPN are reporting that he wants to play more regular football.
The report states that Lingard is open to staying at Old Trafford, but it seems as though his decision will be swayed based on his standing within Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad going forward.
Lingard, of course, was a favourite of Jose Mourinho’s at United, and he has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham in recent weeks.

This report comes alongside news that Lingard has split from long-term agent Mino Raiola, but whether or not that is an indication of his desire to leave Old Trafford remains to be seen.
Lingard is yet to appear for Manchester United in the league this season due to a hip injury, but with the arrivals of Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek this year, he has fallen down the pecking order.
If Solaskjaer can’t make assurances about his future in the team, he may be tempted to leave.
Interestingly, the England international has just entered the final year of his contract.
However, the chances of Tottenham landing him for free next season seem to be very slim as United hold the option to extend his deal for a further season, and ESPN state that the Red Devils don’t want to lose him for free.
It’s certainly interesting to see that Lingard has changed agent just weeks after he was linked with a move away from Manchester United, and it’s a situation that Mourinho may want to keep an eye on.
