According to Calciomercato, Tottenham have submitted an offer for Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is also wanted by Everton.
What’s the story?
Well, Bologna’s Serie A rivals Atalanta had agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old, but could not agree a fee with his club.
As a result, Tottenham’s Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, swooped in to hold talks with the 23-cap Japan international.
Now, it seems Spurs have firmed up these talks with an official offer for Tomiyasu’s services.
Calciomercato do not reveal how much money Tottenham have offered.
However, it is said that AC Milan were keen to sign Tomiyasu, so the north Londoners must be wary of the Italian giants getting involved.
Could Everton and Newcastle now react?

After hearing news of Tottenham’s bid, it will be interesting to see how Everton and Newcastle react.
According to the Chronicle, Newcastle have been scouting the versatile defender, who can operate at right-back or centre-back.
Additionally, there has been talk of Everton holding an interest in Tomiyasu, who Bologna paid £6 million for.

In our view, Tottenham have a bigger pull than Everton or Newcastle, and shouldn’t worry about losing out to their Premier League rivals.
Having said that, anything can happen in the transfer market.
The quicker Paratici gets a deal over the line for Spurs, the better.
