According to AS, Tottenham have submitted an €8m (£6.8m) bid for Granada defender Domingos Duarte, although it won’t be enough.
What’s the story?
Well, it was recently revealed by IDEAL that Nuno Espirito Santo knows the centre-back well, and is keen to bring him to N17.
Now, AS believe an offer has been submitted for the 2-cap Portugal international.
The Spanish news outlet claim that Granada are expecting Spurs to improve their bid, with his €30m (£25.7m) release clause a referral point for the fee.
Duarte’s contract expires in 2023, and Granada are happy to sell if an acceptable offer arrives as they look to improve their financial situation.
Interestingly, AS describe the 26-year-old as one of the best centre-backs in Spain.
Are other Tottenham negotiations under Nuno stalling?

Duarte is a fresh name on the scene for Tottenham, so are the club’s other negotiations for a centre-back proving to be problematic?
Spurs submitted a very attractive bid worth £46.8m for Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres, although the Spaniard himself rejected the move.
The same thing happened with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, who turned down a move to N17 despite his club accepting Tottenham’s offer.

Another deal that seemed close was for Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, although that seems to have gone cold.
Is Duarte a backup option for Tottenham now these other pursuits have died down? It certainly seems that way.
