According to Marca, Jules Kounde has rejected a move to Tottenham, despite an agreement between Spurs and Sevilla.
What’s the story?
Well, Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that Fabio Paratici had struck a deal with Sevilla for Kounde.
It involved a fee of £26m, and also included Davinson Sanchez.
It was exciting news, given the fact Kounde is one of the biggest defensive prospects in Europe.
The Frenchman is so good that Manchester City submitted a ‘magnificent‘ offer for him last summer, before signing Ruben Dias after it was rejected.
However, Tottenham’s bubble has now been burst after Marca revealed that Kounde has no intention of joining the north Londoners.
Why doesn’t he want to join Tottenham?
Firstly, Marca mention Tottenham’s lack of Champions League football as a motive behind Kounde’s decision.
The Spanish news outlet add that the 22-year-old doesn’t see much room for personal development at Spurs – simply put, he feels it’s a backwards step.

That comes as a real shame, as he would’ve been an incredible signing.
We also can’t imagine Nuno Espírito Santo will be too happy.
Marca believe Kounde’s arrival was personally requested by the Portuguese coach, so he’s surely going to be disappointed with the defender’s decision.
Nevertheless, there’s no time to dwell on the rejection.

In Di Marzio‘s initial report, he claimed that Tottenham will turn their attention to Inter Milan colossus Milan Skriniar.
The Slovakia international is available for £43m, as the Serie A champions are struggling financially and are happy to sell.
Evidently, it seems Nuno is desperate to bring a new centre-back to N17.
