According to SPORT, Tottenham are still interested in signing Lucas de Vega from Barcelona, after José Mourinho made an attempt in 2020.
What’s the story?
Well, the Spanish news outlet are claiming that Tottenham’s interest in the Brazilian is ‘strong’ with his future at the Camp Nou uncertain.
The 21-year-old’s contract expires next summer, and Barcelona are weighing up who they can sell to save money and cut salary costs.
De Vega is among the players at risk, although there is some hesitation from Barcelona.
The Spanish side don’t want to offload ‘important’ prospects unless they absolutely have to.
SPORT believe Tottenham are monitoring the South American’s situation, but a formal offer has not yet been made.
José Mourinho bid for Lucas de Vega in 2020

Last year, Mourinho made a £1.8 million bid for the Barcelona prodigy, again according to SPORT.
It wasn’t enough, with Barcelona asking for £3.5 million, and a transfer never materialised for the Fortaleza-born playmaker.
That was despite the fact that La Verdad claimed De Vega dreamed of joining Tottenham, and was desperate for the move.

If that was true, it will be interesting to see if he still feels the same way this time around, as many things have changed in north London.
Mourinho is gone, and Antonio Conte looks likely to replace him.
Whether or not the Italian will want De Vega remains to be seen, but it’s certainly worth keeping an eye on his situation.
