According to 90min, Tottenham still admire Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, having nearly signed the centre-back under José Mourinho.
What’s the story?
Well, the 28-year-old came very close to leaving Stamford Bridge last year, and the Mirror claimed that N17 was his most likely destination.
Rudiger himself even admitted to holding talks with Mourinho (Mirror).
Eventually, the £34m stayed at Stamford Bridge, where he has gone from strength to strength since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard.
Now, 90min believe Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Atlético Madrid are keen to sign the 46-cap Germany international.
Rudiger is currently struggling to agree a new contract with Chelsea, with his deal set to expire in June 2022.
90min believe the defender’s representatives have barely spoken to Chelsea’s Sporting Director Marina Granovskaia in recent months.
Would Antonio Rudiger be a good signing for Tottenham?

This might sound crazy given his form under Tuchel, but we believe Rudiger would be a risky signing for Nuno Espirito Santo.
Why? Well, we’re not sure how much of his excellent form in 2021 has been down to the influence of Tuchel and his style of play.
It must be remembered that Rudiger was woeful under Lampard, to the point where he was axed from the squad and nearly sold.

Of course, players can improve.
However, if we were Nuno, we’d definitely be wary of the German’s ability to perform away from his fellow countryman in Tuchel.
It must also be noted that Nuno has just spent £42.5m on Cristian Romero, who is struggling to dislodge Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.
With Joe Rodon also on the bench, another centre-back isn’t really needed.
