Tottenham Hotspur target Antonio Rudiger will leave Chelsea today, the Daily Mirror suggest (09:31).

Although it is not certain whether Tottenham will be Rudiger’s destination, it does seem that it is expected that his departure from Stamford Bridge will be sanctioned.

Rudiger appeared to start the season in Frank Lampard’s plans, but he has slipped out of favour.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is now believed to be keen to land Rudiger, but the deal is a complicated one.

Chelsea are seemingly reluctant to do business with a direct rival, and other clubs are also keen.

PSG and AC Milan are interested in the German, but Spurs are actually claimed to be his most likely destination by the Mirror.

If Tottenham can complete a deal for Rudiger then it would cap off an excellent transfer window for Mourinho’s side.

Spurs have already strengthened in almost every area of their squad, and bringing in one more centre-back could give Mourinho all the tools he needs to mount a really successful season.
