CalcioMercatoWeb claim Tottenham are ready to table a player-plus-cash bid to sign Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni – combining a fee of £26million plus Davinson Sanchez. Momentum is gathering in a move for Bastoni.

Tottenham have been looking at a move for 23-year-old Bastoni since the season came to an end. Of course, Antonio Conte worked with Bastoni at Inter, giving him his big break and establishing him in the Inter side.

The Italy international has since become a regular with club and country. Spurs want a left-sided defender to compete with Ben Davies and Bastoni is a priority – while the likes of Pau Torres and Josko Gvardiol are also targets.

Reports emerged this week that Bastoni has told Inter he is keen on a move – while in the public domain, he kept his cards close to his chest. He is expected to cost north of £50million this summer.

A big fee – but Conte is ‘crazy’ about Bastoni as per the new reports. Indeed, Spurs are looking to work some magic and Fabio Paratici is planning a way of landing Bastoni in a player-plus-cash deal. £26million, and Sanchez.

Tottenham ready Sanchez bid to sign Bastoni

It is a move that suits all parties – if Inter are keen on 25-year-old Sanchez. The Colombia international has been good in glimpses at Spurs, but has never really hit the heights expected of him when he joined from Ajax.

Sanchez is first reserve for the three defenders at the moment. If Bastoni does sign, he is likely to drop down the pecking order. So it suits Spurs, saving them some cash in a move for Bastoni with a player they do not need.

It suits Sanchez – he joins a side that are losing a centre-back, a Champions League side. It depends on whether Inter would be happy to bring in Sanchez and a lesser fee for their Italian starlet.
