Inter Milan central defender Alessandro Bastoni has told his club that he wants to join Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to 90min.
90min are reporting this evening that Bastoni has told his club Inter that he is keen to reunite with Conte at Tottenham.
The left-footed central defender worked with Conte, now the Tottenham head coach, at Inter and won the Serie A title in 2020-21.
90min have reported that Inter will now enter talks with Tottenham over the transfer of the 23-year-old Italy international centre-back – who is “mean” and has “got personality and a great future”, according to comments from former Inter defender Marco Materazzi in FCInterNews in April 2020
Alessandro Bastoni boost for Tottenham Hotspur
In our view, Alessandro Bastoni telling Inter Milan that he wants to join Tottenham Hotspur is a huge boost to the Premier League club’s chances of signing him.
If the defender wants to leave, then it is unlikely that Inter will stop him.

Now, of course, the former Italian champions will not just let the defender leave on the cheap, and Tottenham will have to pay a good transfer fee.
The Times have reported that Inter want £54m for Bastoni.
Would Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy cough up that much money?
We think that Levy will negotiate and try to bring the price down, but if Conte wants Bastoni at Tottenham, then the club chairman should get the deal done.
