Tottenham Hotspur are said to be very keen on signing Marcel Sabitzer this summer, with the RB Leipzig midfielder considered one of their top targets, Football London say.
Sabitzer, who has earned a reputation as a set piece specialist in the Bundesliga, has a lot of admirers at Tottenham and it seems that he is now right at the top of the North London’s side’s wishlist.
However, landing him will not be a straightforward process.
Even though Sabitzer only has just over a year left on his current deal with Leipzig, the German side are in no mind to let him go on the cheap.
And that may mean that Tottenham have to sell before they consider buying the 26-year-old, who was recently described as ‘remarkable’ by former Leipzig boss Ralph Ragnick (BuliNews).
If Sabitzer was to join Spurs he would be a good fit for Mourinho’s system.
The Austrian would provide Tottenham with added creativity, but he crucially does not shy away from the defensive side of the game.
Sabizter is a particulalry hard-worker, who is blessed with great energy.
And the news that he is firmly on Tottenham’s wishlist has to be considered exciting, as getting a deal done would be a real coup for Mourinho’s men.
