According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are now interested in Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence.
Spence has caught the eye during a loan spell at Nottingham Forest this season, proving himself to be one of the best full-backs in the Championship.
However, while he’s been shining in the Championship, he’s also made something of a mark in the FA Cup.
Indeed, Spence was unbelievable against Arsenal earlier this month, and it’s not all that surprising to hear that he’s ended up on Spurs and the Gunners’ radar after that showing.
Interestingly, that’s not the first time Spence has put in a marquee display in an FA Cup game against a north London side.
Spence also put in a brilliant display against Tottenham for Middlesbrough back in 2020, and Jose Mourinho even reportedly spoke to him after the match telling him just how much he had impressed him.
Unfortunately for Spurs, it may not be easy for them to land Spence. Arsenal and Leeds have also been credited with an interest, while you can be sure that Nottingham Forest will be keen to keep hold of him after his performances this term, especially if they manage to secure a long-awaited promotion to the Premier League.
Spence is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
