Jeunes Footeux claim Tottenham are eyeing a shock move to raid Barcelona and sign Germany goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter-Stegen as they continue their pursuit to bring in a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris between the sticks.
Lloris, who turns 36, has surpassed 10 years at Tottenham – clocking up a massive 426 appearances in all competitions. In that time, he has kept 145 clean sheets. But he still has two years remaining on his contract with the London club.
Indeed, Lloris will be looking to take his total number of appearances closer to the 1000 mark, having clocked up 845 games for club and country. But Spurs may feel that they require a replacement for the Frenchman next summer.
Indeed, the Evening Standard said Tottenham want Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid. But a new report from JF claims that Oblak is not the only stopper they want. Conte is said to have made ter-Stegen a ‘priority’ for ‘next season’.

The report claims that Barcelona are open to his exit for the right offer, to relieve their financial situation. Signing a new deal in 2020, he has a contract until 2025 at Barcelona – with Barcelona confirming his release clause is £438million.
Tottenham eyeing shock move to sign ter-Stegen
What a signing ter-Stegen would be. But Tottenham do need to consider the need to sign a goalkeeper as soon as next summer. Lloris is a top, top goalkeeper that continually shows why he is one of the world’s best shot-stoppers.
He has been in excellent form over the past 12 months, rarely putting a foot wrong despite his age. Given he has a contract until the end of next season, do Spurs really need a new goalkeeper at the end of the current campaign?
If they can get ter-Stegen for a decent price, then why not. But it seems harsh on Lloris to target a goalkeeper for next summer when he continues to prove that age is just a number, as Tottenham skipper.
