According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham Hotspur now face a battle with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid for Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola.
Spinazzola has been one of Italy’s shining lights at Euro 2020, playing as a left back despite being right footed.
The 28-year-old should be a key man for Jose Mourinho at Roma, but there is a chance he ends up playing elsewhere next season.
Tottenham’s interest in Spinazzola
The Express reported earlier this month that Tottenham want to sign Spinazzola, with Fabio Paratici on board as director of football.
Paratici brought Spinazzola to Juventus in 2012 and knows all about his fellow Italian, hence Tottenham’s interest in a deal.
Former Serie A ace Simon Altobelli has added that he has heard Tottenham want Spinazzola, though they a face battle.
New interest in Spinazzola emerges
It’s now stated that Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all ‘asked for information’ as they look to sign Spinazzola.
His versatility to play as a full back on either side hugely appealing, and his performances at Euro 2020 are certainly helping his profile.
If Tottenham want Spinazzola, they will have to fend of Europe’s elite to land him – and that certainly won’t be easy for them, even given Paratici’s history with Spinazzola.
