Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly about to miss out on Simone Inzaghi to Inter Milan.

According to Il Tempo (print edition, page 16, May 20, 2021), Tottenham made an offer to Inzaghi to become Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor.

The report added that Juventus and Napoli had also made offers to the Italian manager, as covered by HITC Sport.

However, The Athletic have reported today that the 45-year-old is leaving Lazio and will become the new manager of Inter.

Inter Milan over Tottenham Hotspur?

Antonio Conte has left his managerial role at Inter despite taking the club to the Scudetto this season.

Inzaghi has done extremely well at Lazio, and one can understand why Inter are reportedly about to make him their new manager.

The Nerazzurri will have to sell players due to financial problems.

The former Italy international striker did well during his time at Lazio despite a relatively tight budget and made them challengers for the top four.

Tottenham are a massive club, but Inter are the Italian champions.

One can understand why Inzaghi would want to take charge of the Serie A champions ahead of Spurs.

True, Tottenham can offer a lot of money, but the North London club could be without their star player Harry Kane next season.

That would make the job of finishing in the top four difficult for any manager.

Inter are a traditional heavyweight, and managing the Nerazzurri would be an honour for any Italian manager.
