Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is on a three-man list compiled to replace Mauricio Pochettino at PSG, by Luis Campos. Campos is set to replace Leonardo as PSG’s sporting director.
Leonardo, 52, is set to leave PSG after three years in the role, in what is the Brazilian’s second stint as sporting director of the French champions. He leaves after keeping Kylian Mbappe, getting him to sign a deal until 2025.
Campos, who was linked with a move to Tottenham during Jose Mourinho’s reign, is currently working as an advisor at La Liga side Celta Vigo, since March. But he made his name at both Monaco and then Lille in Ligue 1.
He is expected to come in at PSG and replace Leonardo – and he has a three-name list to replace Pochettino. Conte is on that list, along with Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim and ex-PSG midfielder Thiago Motta.
Tottenham boss Conte on Campos list for PSG – surely he stays?
Conte has secured Champions League football at Tottenham. An incredible achievement with the squad at his disposal. Surely, he will be backed in the upcoming window, not just because it is Conte, but because of fourth.
Having guided Tottenham into the Champions League, one would expect that Conte now pursues the next chapter at Spurs. A chapter that could finally end their hunt for trophies in the coming months and years.
A move to PSG will be tempting for the Italian, especially given the money and names already at the club. But Spurs will be more of a challenge to him.
