According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Torino are negotiating with Benfica about a deal to bring Tottenham loanee Gedson Fernandes to Serie A.
The Portuguese midfielder has been linked with a move away from Spurs this month, and it’s not all that surprising to hear that he could be on his way.
The Benfica loanee has barely played for Jose Mourinho this season, and there have been plenty of rumours about him moving on this month.
Gedson was supposed to stay with Spurs until the summer, but after a lacklustre 12 months with the club, it seems as though he could be about to close this chapter of his career.
It seems as though Torino and Benfica are in advances stages of this negotiation as well, with TuttoMercatoWeb reporting that this deal could be finalised in the next few hours.

Spurs will be a man lighter in their squad going forward, but it shouldn’t be too big of a blow to Mourinho as he’s well stacked in midfield and Fernandes barely featured, despite making the bench in the past few weeks.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we could have confirmation of Fernandes’ time in north London coming to an end very soon.
It’s sad that it’s ended this way, but it’s probably the best move for all parties at this moment in time.
