Tottenham are increasingly confident that they can agree a deal with Juventus for midfielder Weston McKennie.

According to the Independent, Spurs believe a transfer can be reached with the Serie A side. As per the report, Tottenham could even pull off the signing of McKennie for under £40m.

The American international is not part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans for Juventus this season.

The 22-year-old midfielder was a breakout star for Juventus last season. The former Schalke 04 star impressed under Andrea Pirlo. Furthermore, Tottenham target McKennie becoming a key clog in the former coach’s starting XI.

However, the youngster is not viewed the same in the eyes of Allegri. After all, the midfielder has not played a Serie A minute for Juventus this season, and Tottenham have sensed an opportunity to sign McKennie.

Indeed, Cristiano Ronaldo is a big fan of the Texan-born dynamo, with El Futbolero reporting that the Portuguese icon has a close relationship with McKennie since landing in Turin last year.

Yet the duo will likely be separated this summer. As well as McKennie potentially Italy for Tottenham, Ronaldo himself could be on the move, with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that Manchester City have offered the striker a contract.

As for McKennie, Tottenham could be the midfielder’s next home. Moreover, Spurs will have a great prospect on their hands, with the American talent already proving at Juventus that he has the quality to impress at the highest level.
