Tottenham managing director Fabio Paratici has reportedly identified ACF Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic has his ‘ideal signing’ for the attacking position, with Arsenal also interested.

According to Football London, the Spurs chief is a fan of the Serbian international, with Tottenham the favourites to land Vlahovic in the summer transfer window. However, it is unlikely that the white side of north London will be able to secure a deal for the striker.

Since the summer, Vlahovic’s form has only improved, with the attacker breaking the record for most Serie A goals scored in a calendar year and firing Fiorentina to seventh in the Italian top-flight, their highest position in some years.

Moreover, interest from other clubs could see Tottenham struggle to sign Vlahovic. As mentioned, Arsenal are chasing the striker as per the Daily Mail, with Juventus also keen on the 21-year-old, who could leave Fiorentina for a reported €60m (£50m) according to Tuttosport.

Unlike Arsenal, though, Tottenham appear to be far from being in the conversation to sign Vlahovic this year, with Football London reporting that Adama Traore is the most likely forward to join Spurs this month.

The Wolves attacker has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time. And now, it appears that the north London side will finally land their man after nearly two years of scouting and negotiations with the Premier League side.

Vlahovic only makes sense for Tottenham if Kane leaves this year

There’s no question that Spurs need an extra centre-forward. For years, Harry Kane has largely operated as the club’s only main man in the position which at times has caused some problems for Tottenham.

Indeed, whilst Vlahovic could play alongside Kane in a two-man attack, there’s no doubt that the Serbian plays much better when playing as a sole striker and that Tottenham could only afford the youngster if their English talisman was to leave in the summer.
