According to Calciomercato, Atalanta glovesman Pierluigi Gollini has offers on the table from Tottenham, Everton and Wolves.

What’s the story?

Well, it was recently said that the 26-year-old would definitely be leaving Atalanta.

Another recent report claimed that Tottenham and Everton were in the process of preparing an offer for the Italian.

Now, the Italian news outlet have confidently stated that Gollini has offers on the table from all three Premier League clubs.

Calciomercato add that Atalanta are hoping to receive €20m (£17m) for their shot-stopper.

Gollini has been training through his holiday, in a bid to get himself in the best shape possible to be included in Italy’s 2022 World Cup squad.

Why do Tottenham, Everton and Wolves want him?

From our point of view, we have no idea why Tottenham, Everton and Wolves want to sign Gollini.

That isn’t an insult to his ability. It’s more a case of the trio already having outstanding goalkeepers in between the sticks.

Yes, Wolves did just sell Rui Patricio. However, they have now replaced him with Jose Sa, who joined from Olympiakos earlier today.

Tottenham have a World Cup winning No.1 in Hugo Lloris.

Elsewhere, Everton have the EURO 2020 Golden Glove winner in Jordan Pickford, so both clubs have pretty decent options to say the least.

In our view, it would be utter madness to waste £17m on a goalkeeper when the trio each have fine shot-stoppers to choose from.
