According to AS, Tottenham and Wolves have agreed a fee after holding talks over Adama Traore, who is also wanted by Liverpool and Leeds.

What’s the story?

Well, Tottenham have agreed to pay €46m (£39.4m) for the 25-year-old, who has played every Premier League minute under Bruno Lage so far.

However, the two Premier League clubs are yet to shake hands.

Why? Well, despite a fee being in place, there are disagreements over the structure of the deal.

AS believe Spurs want an initial season-long loan with an obligation to pay the money next year.

However, Wolves want the money now, in order for Lage to put it towards other additions before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

A sticky situation, to say the least.

AS add that Nuno Espirito Santo has personally requested the signing of Traore, after bringing the Spain international to Molineux in 2018 for £18m.

Could Liverpool or Leeds take Adama Traore from Tottenham?

While Tottenham and Wolves argue over the structure of the deal, there is time for other clubs to think about hijacking the deal.

Two clubs who could do exactly that – in our view – are Liverpool and Leeds.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side were said to have recently made a bid for the Wolves No.37.

Elsewhere, a later report last week from 90Min claimed that Liverpool were hoping to beat the Yorkshire giants to Traore’s signature.

Tottenham seem to be the furthest advanced in discussions with Wolves, and have the advantage of Nuno to lure the mesmeric dribbler to N17.

However, while Daniel Levy continues to haggle, there is a risk of Tottenham losing out.

Liverpool and Leeds now both know what an acceptable fee is, and if they come along and offer to pay it upfront, they’ll surely leapfrog Spurs in the queue.
