Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are hopeful of signing Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore for less than £40 million ahead of Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United, according to 90min.
What’s the story?
90min are reporting today (1:05pm) that Liverpool are determined to sign a forward before the summer transfer window closes and remain keen on Wolves star Traore.
The Wanderers want at least £40 million for the former Aston Villa winger.
Liverpool are not prepared to pay that much.
However, the former Premier League champions are hopeful of striking a deal, having had conversations about the winger.
Leeds are also interested in the former Middlesbrough winger, but the West Yorkshire club have yet to meet the asking price.
Traore – described by then Wolves manager Nuno as “special and unique” in The Express & Star in March 2021 – himself wants to leave, and the Wanderers themselves are willing to sell, according to the report.

Leeds to miss out on Traore to Liverpool?
Liverpool now reportedly being hopeful of signing Traore is a blow for Leeds.
It suggests that the Merseyside club could be ahead of the Whites in the race for the 25-year-old Spain international.
Traore knows Leeds Director of Football Victor Orta from his time at Middlesbrough, but the chance to play for Liverpool, who have won the Premier League and the Champions League in recent seasons, could be very tempting.
