As reported by Estadio Deportivo, Tottenham winger Bryan Gil could be set for a return to La Liga in January, as Cadiz could become his next destination.

So far, things have been far from ideal in North London for the former Valencia sensation.

The Spaniard was used in extremely limited capacity upon joining the club for a £21.5 million fee (Guardian) in the summer of 2021.

To the extent where he was sent back on loan to Valencia in January this year.

While it seemed as if the 2022/2023 season would be a significant improvement on last, that has not been the case.

Despite showing flashes of his sparkling technical ability in Europe, the 21-year-old has played a mere 6 minutes in the Premier League.

As a result, a move would perhaps be the best decision for both the player and the Lilywhites.

Gil could be set for La Liga return

According to a report by Estadio Deportivo, Tottenham outcast Bryan Gil could join Cadiz in January.

The report also states that the Spanish side’s fans are desperate for the silky winger to sign for the club.

Coincidentally, Gil was born in Cadiz, but has never played for them.

However, it is rather unanimous amongst the fanbase that the minnows will find it next to impossible to afford the silky attacker’s £83,000-a-week wages.

Aside from that, it is also agreed that Gil can aim for bigger and better things, rather than spearheading the 19th place side’s survival.

Spurs should find a way to let Gil leave

Admittedly, a transfer to Cadiz seems unlikely in Bryan Gil’s case.

But Tottenham need to find a way to sell the talented forward, as his career is rotting away in England.

Gil, once compared to Bernardo Silva by Antonio Conte (via Football.London) clearly possesses the quality to make an impact elsewhere, but Spurs may have been a step too early in his career.
