The Mirror reported last month that Lucas Vazquez would love to play for Tottenham Hotspur, but it seems that it is Jose Mourinho’s former club Chelsea who have taken the initiative to sign him.
It was reported by The Mirror in March that Real Madrid winger Vasquez has told his agent to find him a club in the Premier League, and that he has been offered to Spurs.
The report added, as covered by HITC Sport, that the 29-year-old would love to work with former Madrid head coach Mourinho at Tottenham.
However, one of Mourinho’s former clubs Chelsea have made an offer to the Spaniard, according to ABC.
The 29-year-old, who can also operate as a right-back, is out of of contract at defending Spanish champions Madrid in the summer of 2021 and will leave them at the end of the season, according to the report, which has added that Manchester United and Bayern Munich have also made offers to him.
Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur?
Chelsea are very likely to play in the Champions League next season, and that could sway Vazquez.
The Spain international is used to competing for and winning major titles such as La Liga and the Champions League.
The 29-year-old won the La Liga title with Madrid last season and in 2016-17, and the Champions League on four occasions.
However, the appeal of working with Mourinho and playing for a massive and ambitious club such as Spurs cannot be understated.
