According to reports from The Sun, Swansea City have enquired about the availability of Nicolas Gaitan, who is all set to leave Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.

The Argentine winger is looking to leave the Rojiblancos in search of regular first team action. He joined Madrid just 18 months ago from Portuguese giants Benfica, but has struggled to cement a first team place under Diego Simeone.

According to reports from Marca, Atletico are looking to offload him as well and they expect to get around £18 million from his sale.

However, The Sun reports that Gaitan could be available on loan, which should garner more interest among his potential suitors.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Everton and West Ham are also interested in signing him. However, Everton are primarily focussing on signing Theo Walcott from Arsenal, and would only move for Gaitan, should they fail to land their first-choice target.

Gaitan would be a brilliant signing for Swansea, but whether he will consider joining a struggling Premier League club remains to be seen.
