Leeds United have been linked with the Romanian international recently.
Leeds United have been linked with a move for Romanian international Alexandru Maxim this month.
What was ran as an opinion piece by HITC back in December soon became reality, with Maxim’s agent confirming to Stuttgarter Nachrichten that the Yorkshire club were keen on the player and the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that Garry Monk had a look at the player in the summer.

Now German publication Bild has been commenting on his potential exit from the club – suggesting his wages and potential destination could be a stumbling block.
The paper reports that Maxim is one of the highest paid players in the 2. Bundesliga on over €1 million-a-year, after signing a lucrative extension when the likes of Liverpool were interested in his signature.
He is also said to be particularly selective with his next club. Both of these factors suggest a transfer anywhere will be hard in January, and Leeds are unlikely to snap him up.

The attacker has links to both Leeds United manager Garry Monk and assistant coach Pep Clotet.
Monk confirmed to Wales Online, nearly two years ago now, that his then Swansea City side were interested in making a move for the Stuttgart star. Maxim also came through the ranks at Espanyol, where he was coached by current Leeds assistant.
