Pascal is the latest player to be linked with a move to Rangers, whose new boss Steven Gerrard has already added seven new faces at Ibrox this summer.

Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers are among the clubs monitoring teenage Barnet defender Dwight Pascal, according to the Sun (July 5 liveblog).

Rangers, their English namesakes Queens Park Rangers, and Reading, are all being credited with interest in Pascal.

And as the right-back is out of contract this summer, the newspaper claims interested parties would only have to pay training compensation.

Barnet are said to want to renew Pascal’s deal, however the lure of a move to one of the UK’s biggest clubs in Rangers, or a leap up three divisions to QPR or Reading could prove difficult to ignore.

The 17-year-old has only played three times for the Bees, for whom he made his debut 18 months ago at the age of 15.

Tav’s new understudy?

Rangers could lose a right-back of their own this summer, with Lee Hodson a loan target for Rotherham United, according to the Scottish Sun.

James Tavernier is expected to remain first choice at Ibrox, despite the arrival of Steven Gerrard as manager.

Would Pascal make a useful Ibrox addition?
