According to Sky Sports, Steve Parish has now made a significant decision in Crystal Palace’s hunt to replace Roy Hodgson.
What’s the story?
Well, Sky Sports are claiming that the Eagles have now relaxed their requirements for a new manager.
It is said that Crystal Palace wanted a manager with Premier League experience to replace Hodgson.
However, with time ticking away and a number of players worrying about their contract situations, the south Londoners have changed their approach.
Now, Lucian Favre is being considered for the job.
The Swiss coach has been out of work since being sacked by Borussia Dortmund in December.
Interestingly, the Guardian reveal that Favre is set to talk to Crystal Palace about replacing Hodgson – when these discussions will take place is unclear.
Crystal Palace must appoint someone quickly

A number of first-team players have now left the club after their contracts expired, some of whom the Eagles might still like to re-sign.
The likes of Andros Townsend, Mamadou Sakho, Patrick van Aanholt, Gary Cahill, Scott Dann and Joel Ward have left, among many more.
In that respect, it is imperative that Crystal Palace hire someone soon, so Parish can sit down with them and decide which players to keep.

All the time Crystal Palace are searching for a manager, there’s a chance these players receive offers from elsewhere.
Additionally, even if the Eagles don’t want to re-sign some, there is a need to dip into the transfer market to replace them, another thing that shouldn’t really be done without a manager at the helm to approve arrivals.
With time ticking away, Parish is right to relax his requirements – Crystal Palace must hurry up and hire someone soon.
