According to The Athletic, Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is looking forward to next season under Pep Guardiola amid links to Tottenham Hotspur.
It’s claimed that the 26-year-old really values his development under Pep Guardiola, feeling that he has made real improvements under the Spaniard.
Ake is said to be ‘looking forward’ to a second season under Guardiola, rather than moving on to another club this summer.
Tottenham’s links with Ake
The Daily Star reported in May that City were interested in offering Ake to Tottenham in a potential part-exchange deal for striker Harry Kane.
The Daily Mail added that Tottenham are keen on Ake, with their next manager certainly needing to find defensive reinforcements for next season.
Ake’s stance on staying at City seems to be strong though, meaning a move to Tottenham may not materialise this summer.

Would Ake have been a good signing for Tottenham?
Some may question Ake’s defensive ability at times, especially given his relatively small frame for a centre back, but he has been hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Virgli van Dijk, who knows a thing or two about defending.
Ake has great pace, and his ability to bring the ball out as a left-footed centre back may have made him the ideal long-term successor to Jan Vertonghen.
Instead, Tottenham will seemingly have to look elsewhere, with Ake not exactly angling for a move just a year after joining City for £41million.
