According to the Daily Star, Manchester City could offer defender Nathan Ake in a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
City fancy signing Kane, but are looking for ways to both bring the price of a deal down and ultimately tempt Spurs into parting ways with their star striker.
Pep Guardiola’s men are allegedly willing to offer Ake or Gabriel Jesus in a move, which Tottenham could find somewhat interesting.
What has been said about Ake?
Ake has long been hailed, and Dutch international teammate Virgil van Dijk branded him ‘fantastic’ last year just months before he joined City.
Pep Guardiola seems a fan too, praising his £41million signing for a ‘perfect’ performance against Crystal Palace earlier this month.
Ake has only started nine Premier League games this season though, and as City’s fourth-choice centre back, he may be expendable.

Would Ake make sense for Spurs?
Look, Ake is obviously no Kane replacement, but there’s an argument to be made for him being the ideal successor for Jan Vertonghen.
Spurs saw Vertonghen leave for Benfica last summer, and they haven’t quite managed to find the right replacement for the Belgian.
Ake is quick, elegant and left-footed, meaning he could slot in as Vertonghen’s heir – but of course, taking him over Jesus would leave a huge hole in attack.
