Well, Ivan Perisic to Tottenham Hotspur appears to be very, very close to completion.

According to The Independent, the Inter Milan winger has chosen to join the Lilywhites this summer despite Chelsea also wanting to bring him to London.

Reports from TMW in Italy have added that the 33-year-old attacker will be signing a two-year contract for Spurs boss Antonio Conte, whom he played under at San Siro, and will be earning around £77,000 per week.

So yes, Perisic to Tottenham Hotspur is looking perilously close – and even moreso when you consider what Calciomercato have reported.

The Italian publication has claimed that Conte’s club will actually announce the player – a Champions League winner with Bayern two years ago – as soon as tomorrow in what would be a massive boost.

Part of Tottenham’s problem historically when it comes to transfers has been how tediously-drawn out they were, with chairman Daniel Levy a likely culprit for that.

But this summer, Spurs, who received a £150 million injection from ENIC earlier this week [Bloomberg], seem to mean business and getting Perisic wrapped up before June would absolutely reflect a new, exciting approach from everybody behind the scenes at Hotspur Way.

This is how Lilywhites supporters have wanted their club to operate like for an absolute age.

And thankfully, it does look like Ivan Perisic to Tottenham Hotspur, if the announcement is made tomorrow, will signal a very welcome shift in thinking.
