According to the Daily Mail, Nuno Espirito Santo has spoken to Tottenham about replacing José Mourinho.
What’s the story?
Well, the report claims that Crystal Palace offered their vacancy to the 47-year-old as they seek to replace Roy Hodgson.
However, Nuno then went on to speak to Everton and Tottenham after that offer was made.
The Eagles then pulled the plug on the deal completely, after the Portuguese coach made a number of late demands.
Now, he could end up in north London.
Tottenham’s new Director of Football Fabio Paratici is said to admire Nuno, so it’s entirely possible that he could soon manage Spurs.
Nuno has been without a job since May after leaving Wolves by mutual agreement, following a very successful stint at Molineux.
He guided Wolves to the Premier League, and also led them to the Europa League quarter-final.
Would Daniel Levy want Nuno?

If Daniel Levy wanted Nuno, then this deal could’ve been done a long, long time ago.
As aforesaid, Nuno has been available since May.
During that time, Tottenham have stumbled through a shortlist with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers, Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso on it.
In that respect, it would feel as if a move for Nuno would be led by Paratici, rather than Levy – in our view.
We also wonder how Nuno might view the Tottenham job in terms of feeling wanted.

If Spurs ended up hiring the Portuguese coach, it would feel as if he was among their last resorts, given the amount of names targeted before him.
That might not bother him.
However, it’s clear that Nuno was never among Tottenham’s first choices, or this deal surely could’ve been done a while ago.
