Are Arsenal signing Victor Osimhen? Well the Gunners are reportedly favourites, but Tottenham Hotspur are now entering the race.

Strikers are the order of the day for Arsenal during the summer transfer window.

Two weeks ago, the North Londoners were reported to be winning the race to sign the Napoli marksman, but Tottenham are reportedly entering the reckoning.

According to Football London, the 23-year-old hitman is firmly on Spurs’ radar after netting 18 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season.

The report adds that Osimhen has been on the Lilywhites’ radar since his Lille career, which ended in 2020.

Tottenham have been relying on Harry Kane as their primary source of goals for close to a decade, with Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente and Carlos Vinicius proving themselves to be underwhelming plan-b options.

Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on signing a striker and it’ll be fascinating to see whether the Arsenal-linked attacker is genuinely a target for the Italian manager and Fabio Paratici during the summer window.

Arsenal favourites to sign Osimhen

Well that was the speculation earlier in May.

However, the Gunners are on the brink of blowing their Champions League qualification effort, which could have a knock-on effect for their transfer targets.

A single point for Spurs away to relegated Norwich City on Sunday would see Conte’s troops secure a top-four finish in the Premier League.

It has already been suggested that Arsenal’s interest in Paulo Dybala hinges on whether Mikel Arteta’s side qualify for the Champions League, meaning that the same could be true of other targets like Osimhen.

The Nigeria international is absolutely the real deal, with one pundit in Italy even suggesting that he was ‘better than Dusan Vlahovic‘ – of course, another target of both North London clubs prior to his Juventus transfer this past January.

Eighteen goals this season certainly illustrates that he knows how to find the and it’ll be fascinating to see which of the two North Londoners – if either – win the race.
