Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are the leading contender to sign Victor Osimhen, who is also on the radar of Manchester United and Newcastle United, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report in the Italian publicatin has claimed that Arsenal are in pole position to sign the Nigeria international striker in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle appeal less to the 23-year-old striker due to lack of European football next season, while Manchester United are also in the mix, according to the report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Napoli want €100 million (£83.86 million) for the striker.

Victor Osimhen would make Arsenal better

In our opinion, Osimhen would make Arsenal a better and more potent team in attack.

The striker is doing well in Serie A, and given that he is only 23, he is the right age to take the next step in his career and move to a massive club such as Arsenal.

Osimhen has made 21 starts and three substitute appearances in Serie A for Napoli so far this season.

The Nigerian striker has scored 13 goals and given two assists in those matches.

Arsenal will need to sign strikers in the summer transfer window.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left for Barcelona in the January transfer window, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season.
