West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing West Ham United target Shane Duffy from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

West Ham United interest

According to The Mirror (print edition, page 46, August 4, 2020), West Ham are interested in Duffy and are considering making a bid of £10 million for the 28-year-old defender (click here to read more).

West Ham manager David Moyes worked with the Republic of Ireland international at Everton, and there is no surprise that the Scotsman reportedly wants the ex-Blackburn Rovers man.

West Bromwich Albion make move

However, it seems that former West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has stolen a march on the London club.

The Daily Mail has reported that West Brom – who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship – have held talks with Brighton over a move for Duffy.

The report has claimed that the Hammers are also interested in the defender, but manager Moyes has a limited budget and needs to sell before he can buy.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Duffy made 12 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Brighton this past season, scoring one goal in the process.
