A player David Moyes managed at Everton soon could reunite with his former boss at West Ham United, according to The Daily Mirror.

The newspaper reports (on page 46 of its printed edition on Tuesday) that Moyes is considering a £10 million move for the Brighton defender Shane Duffy.

Duffy made his Everton debut under the now West Ham manager, but dropped down to the Championship, where he played for Blackburn and Brighton, after Moyes joined Manchester United.

But despite having been a regular in Brighton’s first two seasons back in the top flight, the Republic of Ireland international started just 12 league games in 2019/20.

West Ham enquired about Duffy in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mirror.

But the Hammers could have more success this time around, after Brighton signed the Ajax defender Joel Veltman and saw another of Duffy’s rivals, Ben White, return from a productive spell at Leeds.

Moyes took former Everton players Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United), Steven Pienaar, Darron Gibson, Bryan Oviedo, Joleon Lescott and Victor Anichebe (all Sunderland) with him to future clubs.

West Ham fans – would the former Everton defender be a useful addition?
