Championship specialist Slavisa Jokanovic wants assurances over Sheffield United’s transfer plans before he takes over at Bramall Lane, as reported by TEAMtalk.
The former Fulham and Watford boss might have a superb track record when it comes to securing promotion to the Premier League, but even he can’t do it all on his own.
If Jokanovic is to fill a Chris Wilder-shaped void in the Steel City, he wants guarantees that Sheffield United are willing to back him financially and bring in the players who can make his vision a reality.
TEAMtalk claim that the 52-year-old Serb has held talks with the Blades hierarchy, convincing the Sheffield United bosses that a man who guided Fulham to play-off success at Wembley in 2018 is the right man for the job.
Before committing himself to the role, however, Jokanovic wants to know how much money he will be given to spend in the transfer market.

The one-time Chelsea defender, who is currently working in the Middle East with Al Gharafa, obviously feels that the Sheffield United squad needs investment, even if they do look well set-up to bounce back at the first time of asking.
Should they remain at Bramall Lane, the likes of George Baldock, John Egan, John Fleck, Oli Norwood and Rhian Brewster have the potential to be some of the best in their position anywhere in the Championship.
TEAMtalk add that Javi Pereira, who worked as Jokanovic’s assistant at Fulham, is also in contention for the Sheffield United job.
Oostende coach Alexander Blessin has been mentioned too, although a man who honed his talents in the Red Bull finishing school has attempted to silence the speculation.
