Nicolo Zaniolo’s relationship with Roma seems to have totally broken down.
The Italian’s contract negotiations have come to an end, and now, it looks like his days at the Stadio Olimpico are numbered.
Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer for the player, and while Spurs’ opening proposal has been knocked back, it seems to be just a matter of time before the ‘sharp’ midfielder is on his way out.
Indeed, according to Alfredo Pedulla, there has been a total breakdown between the club and the player, and the Italian also reports that Zaniolo has now been made to train alone.
Simply put, Zaniolo’s future at Roma isn’t looking too bright, and as Spurs fans will know only too well. Once you’re in Jose Mourinho’s bad books, it’s very difficult to salvage your relationship with him.
Zaniolo is on the market, and he has plenty of suitors, with Spurs apparently the team most interested in his signature.

Roma are looking for more than €30m for the player, but Pedulla does note that they could accept a fee around that mark in order to avoid a situation where his price plummets in the coming months.
Spurs do have that sort of cash to spend this month. According to Alasdair Gold, they still have £50m of ENIC’s summer capital injection to spend, while they were happy to pay up to £27m for Pedro Porro according to The Mirror.
Antonio Conte’s side certainly need to add a new dynamic to their midfield and attacking areas, and Zaniolo would certainly provide that. After all, he has been a star in Serie A for years now, and at the age of just 23, he has plenty of room to improve soon.
It’s not clear where Zaniolo will end up, but it looks as though he may have played his final game for Roma.
