According to Football.London, Paulo Fonseca has held further talks with Tottenham Hotspur’s Fabio Paratici as they met in Milan on Monday.
Fonseca has emerged as the clear favourite to become Tottenham’s new manager, replacing compatriot Jose Mourinho.
The 48-year-old was let go by Roma at the end of the season, meaning that he and Mourinho are effectively being swapped in a curious double move.
Fonseca’s latest Tottenham talks
It’s stated that Fonseca and Paratici – Tottenham’s new managing director of football – met over in Milan on Monday, which is where Paratici often operates.
The talks are believed to have focused on Fonseca’s backroom staff, given that his long-time assistant Nuno Campos won’t be following him to Tottenham.
Paratici and Fonseca are allegedly looking for coaches ready for the Premier League and who can work on the defensive side of the game.
Staff moves were believed to be more prominently discussed than transfers, and those moves can be just as important as incoming signings.

When will Spurs appoint Fonseca and how much will he earn?
The report suggests that Tottenham may not unveil Fonseca until next week, as much will depend on whether he has to isolate upon arriving in the UK.
Reports over Fonseca’s expected salary broke just a few days ago, with Calciomercato claiming that he will earn around €5million-a-year – in the region of £82,000-a-week.
That’s some way short of the £15million-a-year Jose Mourinho earned, with Tottenham taking a totally different approach this time.
