Thanks to The Telegraph, Newcastle fans have been able to find out the supposed reason as to why Joe Willock hasn’t arrived from Arsenal yet.
What’s the story?
Well, as reported by Mike McGrath, the length of Willock’s contract at Newcastle is proving to be an issue in discussions over personal terms.
Arsenal and Newcastle have shook hands on a £25m deal, so the north Londoners and the Tynesiders have done their bit.
Now, the Magpies just need to satisfy Willock’s demands.
Presumably, the 21-year-old has already agreed on a salary, seeing as it’s only the length of his deal left to iron out.
While it’s frustrating for Newcastle, it’s encouraging to see that the major hurdles have been cleared – in truth, this problem should not be an insurmountable one.
Chaos will ensure if Joe Willock deal collapses

For the sake of Steve Bruce’s sanity, and that of the Newcastle supporters, the club has to get this deal over the line.
There is huge pressure to bring Willock to Tyneside
It wouldn’t be extreme to say that the Hale End graduate’s goals kept Newcastle in the Premier League last season.
As a result, if they fail to re-sign him, relegation fears around St James’ Park will be astronomically high.

Additionally, the fact that Newcastle haven’t made a single signing yet means fans are putting all of their eggs into the Willock basket.
Should the deal fall through, there will be few players Newcastle can sign to ease the pain.
Hopefully, the worst doesn’t happen, or Newcastle could be in real trouble.
