After last night’s dramatics, Real Madrid will now face Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday 28th May in Paris.

However, that isn’t all the two European giants are competing for.

What’s the story?

Well, Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Monaco wonderkid Aurelien Tchouameni, with the Reds even believed to be in talks.

However, Real Madrid are also keen to bring the 22-year-old to the Santiago Bernabeu.

AS believe Monaco are demanding €70m (£60m) for their prized asset, and interestingly – despite their wealth – Real Madrid are not willing to pay that.

The Spanish news outlet state that Real Madrid believe £60m is too much to spend on a midfielder, and a sum like that should be used on a striker instead.

As a result, they have cooled their interest in Tchouameni, which is brilliant news for Liverpool – to say the least.

Real Madrid are arguably the most attractive club on the planet, so it is a major boost for Jürgen Klopp if they really are turning their attention away from the France international.

Liverpool should find Tchouameni agreement before Real Madrid clash

In our view, Liverpool would be wise to strike a deal with Monaco before the Champions League final on May 28th.

If they do not, and Real Madrid lift their 14th major European cup, then we could end up in a situation where Tchouameni forces a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

If that happens, Monaco may potentially lower their asking price, as their No.8 could refuse to go anywhere else.

You might rubbish this suggestion, although the significance of a Champions League win should not be understated.

It is the competition every player wants to win at club level, and if Real Madrid reign supreme in Paris, Liverpool could face further heartbreak in the form of rejection.
