According to The Athletic, Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici left Paulo Fonseca unimpressed during talks to hire him as Tottenham’s new manager.
What’s the story?
Well, as you’ll probably know, Tottenham pulled the plug on Fonseca’s arrival, just as he looked to be on the verge of replacing José Mourinho.
Spurs then went on to target Gennaro Gattuso, before Levy was put off by fan backlash, and Nuno Espirito Santo eventually arrived.
Now, The Athletic have shared finer details of Tottenham’s dramatic search for Mourinho’s replacement.
They claim that Fonseca was left unimpressed by Levy and Paratici’s inability to get on the same page.
Levy wanted attacking football, while Paratici wanted a defensively strong manager.
Fonseca then flew to Kyiv for a family holiday, annoyed by Tottenham’s lack of a clear vision.
Daniel Levy made the process more complicated

Too many cooks spoil the broth. In hiring Paratici midway through the search for Mourinho’s replacement, Levy made things harder.
Not only did he have to find a manager he liked. Levy then had to ensure it was someone Paratici wanted, and could work alongside in the market.
In truth, Paratici should’ve been hired after the search for Mourinho’s replacement had come to an end.

The Italian is a fine operator in the transfer market, bringing the likes of Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo and Dani Alves to Juventus on free transfers.
However, by the sounds of it, he complicated the search for a manager.
Hopefully, Nuno turns out to be a success, and enjoys a fruitful relationship with Levy and Paratici at Tottenham.
