Tottenham fans may no longer have to worry about losing Harry Kane to Manchester United this summer.

What’s the story?

Well – according to The Times – the Red Devils have bad memories of dealing with Spurs after the £30.75m signing of Dimitar Berbatov back in September 2008.

It is said that Erik ten Hag is likely to target Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen instead of Kane as a result, despite the fact Tottenham’s No.10 will only have 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season.

The Times add that Tottenham do not want to sell the England international to any rival side in the Premier League.

If Kane does express a desire to leave north London, a move to Bayern Munich is mentioned as a possible destination in the aforementioned article.

The 29-year-old could also move to Real Madrid if Mauricio Pochettino ends up replacing Carlo Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabeu.

So far this season, Kane – who has just become Tottenham’s record goalscorer after netting his 267th goal on Sunday – has scored 19 goals in just 30 appearances.

Kane should stay at Tottenham with Manchester United off the table

With Spurs unwilling to sell to a Premier League rival, we believe Kane should stay at Tottenham with English football immortality close to being reached.

The Tottenham talisman is now 60 goals away from Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals, and at the age of just 29, he can surely beat that tally if he stays fit, and also remains in English football.

Kane has already admitted that it is “in the back” of his mind, with The Times quoting him as saying: “It’s always there in the back of my mind but I just take it game by game, season by season. It’s definitely there to be broken and I’m feeling good and feeling fit so we’ll see what happens.”

In our view, Shearer’s record is just as good as any trophy Kane could win for Spurs from a personal viewpoint, so he should opt to stay in N17 and do his best to smash it.
