Daniel Levy has narrowed down Tottenham Hotspur’s shortlist for their new manager considerably, according to Football London.

Tottenham have been linked with a whole range of potential new bosses, following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

But the ever reliable Alasdair Gold suggests that many of the names linked with Tottenham are no longer of interest.

Maurizio Sarri, Nuno and Marcelino are all not on Tottenham’s radar, while links with Gareth Southgate, Christophe Galtier, Oliver Glasner and Eddie Howe are all not believed to be true.

Levy, instead, seems to be pursuing Erik ten Hag heavily at the moment, with Tottenham pushing to meet with the Dutch boss soon.

None of the names mentioned on the list of managers to miss out on the job, are likely to cause much controversy.

Tottenham fans had generally reacted negatively to the links with Southgate, as covered by HITC, while Sarri and Nuno are also not particularly exciting rumours.

Galtier and Glasner have both impressed across Europe, but they are fairly inexperienced managers, who are still trying to prove themselves – and a job of the size of Tottenham’s may have come too early in their careers.

Ten Hag, therefore, arguably remains the most eye catching name on Tottenham’s wishlist on paper.

He has done a hugely impressive job during his time with Ajax, and it will be interesting to see how things develop, if Spurs do manage to hold a meeting with the Dutchman.
