Brendan Rodgers wants to take £15 million-rated PSV Eindhoven forward Noni Madueke to Leicester City after trying and failing to sign him for Celtic, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Jadon Sancho isn’t the only Three Lions wonderkid who slipped through Celtic’s net.
Madueke was just 16 when the Glasgow giants showed an interest but, after turning down a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur, the skilful winger opted to put pen to paper at Eredivisie giants PSV instead.
Three years on, that decision certainly looks the right one.
At the age of 19, Madueke isn’t just a first-team regular at the Phillips Stadium, he’s one of the most exciting attackers anywhere in Dutch football.
The England U21 international has produced seven goals and four assists in 2020/21 – not bad when you consider Madueke has started just six Eredivisie games.

Bayern Munich and Leeds United have been linked in recent weeks. The Mail, meanwhile, claims Leicester have made an enquiry about a £15 million-rated attacker who Rodgers has admired for some time.
“He’s certainly a very talented young man, a little bit like Phil (Foden),” former England U21 boss Aidy Boothroyd said recently, via the Mail.
“He’s got a lovely infectious character that comes out – even over the phone.”
It’s his “infectious character” on the pitch, however, that has caught the eye of scouts across Europe.
Direct, lightning quick and incredibly skilful, Madueke has improved his finishing skills no end under the legendary Ruud van Nistelrooy at PSV.
And the teenager certainly looks tailor-made for Brendan-ball at Leicester.
