Reports in Spain are suggesting that Real Betis are now looking at Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout to fill their midfield role – as they begin to accept defeat in their pursuit of Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina.
AS is reporting that the former Nantes star is the plan B option for Gus Poyet’s side as they look to improve the squad.
Veretout has also been heavily linked with a move to Marseille recently.

He was one of many recruits from French football last summer at Villa Park. However, he failed to gel at the club and Villa ended up finishing bottom of the Premier League.
Playing in the Championship does not seem to appeal to the player and now the La Liga outfit look set to consider offering him a move to the Spanish top-flight.

The 23-year-old played 29 times last season, failing to score, as Villa suffered a dismal campaign and it would appear he is considering moving on.
